In November 2017, the Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) Trenčín region announced a competition for the best food facility in the Trenčín Region. The nomination for the competition "TOP GASTRO TRENČIANSKÉ KRAJA" was sent to the general public, who subsequently selected one of the most popular equipment from the nominations submitted.

"The aim of the competition was to draw attention to the public's favorite catering facilities in our region, to appreciate their work and the quality of the services provided. Since this was the first year of the competition, we also included bistros, cafes, teas and bars in the category "TOP gastronomy equipment" in the "TOP gastronomy" category, "said the Executive Director of KOCR Trenčín region Eva Frývaldská .

The online vote, which took place on www.trencinregion.sk, involved 4170 voters who had the option of casting votes on only one of the 44 nominees . The winner with the highest number of votes was Remy's Bistro & Pub from Trenčín with 754 votes . 479 votes in second place was Vegan restaurant Simply Vegan from Prievidza. On the third screen was the Garden cafe in Partizánsky, which received 329 votes. The vote showed that in the competition of prestigious restaurants, the Aphrodite restaurant in Cerenany or Elizabeth's restaurant in Trencin, quality and popularity did not stop even smaller gastronomic operations. The public has confirmed that modern trends are also being watched in the meals, and enjoys a delicious burgery and a healthy diet.

The nomination for the best gastronomic contest in the region was sent to the public via e-mail, facebook fan page or classic post. All those who participated in the nomination and online voting were included in the prize-winning weekend wellness stay at Hotel Panorama **** in Trenčianske Teplice. Mrs. Barbora Kresánková from Trenčín was the winner of the stay . The winner of the TOP GASTRO TRENCIAN REGION competition will take the prize at the ITF Slovakiatour International Tourism Fair on 25 January 2018 in Bratislava. Together with the Best Dining Award, the TOP Accommodation, Top Innovation in Tourism and the Tourism Personality of the Trenčín Region will be celebrated and awarded by the expert committee.
